Yes, the "10x devs" discussion on thread often misses context. Being 10 times as effective in a strong team is much harder than in a weak team.
However, I don't entirely agree with the "educate" part. It depends on the context. In a smaller company or on a struggling project, a "10x dev" should focus on delivering features and saving the project—they aren't primarily rewarded to mentor. In a well-funded team with capable juniors, education is indeed key to scaling effectively.
