I feel like these days businesses gain clientele through word of mouth. The people will speak highly on their experiences whether it be food, tattoos etc. And that's why people post because they want to see who others recommend through their actual experience and they want to see the work they've gotten done. Your clients will spread the word if they've had a good experience, they'll bring their friends, coworkers,mom etc. You can't really get that through Google unless people leave reviews.
