These “Deposit” before getting serviced really has to be stopped. Why I ask this tattoo artist I know through my sister gonna say in order for me to get a tattoo I gotta pay a deposit. Am I wrong for feeling a way?

2 小時內	marlee eisenhardt marleeeisenhardtt	tattoo artist here!! it’s job security. if you happened to not show up for whatever reason, they are still promised that deposit. so many people make appointments and don’t show because of whatever reason and THAT has gotten out of hand. anyone who is in any service industry absolutely should take deposits. it’s nothing personal, it’s business. the only person i would not make pay a deposit is immediate family 🤷🏼‍♀️

So I just worked on your design, which is you being “serviced”, for nothing. There’s a lot more work that goes into a tattoo then just the tattooing itself. I’d you’re the type to complain about a deposit I wouldn’t tattoo you anyways 😂

The tattoo artist have to spend time planning the tattoo design, and if after they are done and then the customer changes their mind for whatever reason then the artist would’ve wasted their time and effort with nth to show for it.

If you want to be guaranteed a spot, yes, a deposit is usually necessary to secure your spot and artwork. Artists spend their own time drawing for your appt that they don't get paid for. Think of it as your deposit will cover a small portion of that time if you don't show up so it doesn't become a total waste of their time spent.
