Wrong. Some people learn or create by doing, not thinking. If something sounds good and is reaping intended results just use it. A lot of my mixing & production nous is from years of trial and error. The knowledge one gains from finding something beautiful from pure artistic ignorance & irrationality is vital to pushing ideas forward. Don’t get me wrong, it’s good to be educated on such things, but gatekeeping access to a creative tool in this way seems unartistic, restrictive & illiberal.
