This is a great thread! And just to reinforce one of the big points: withholding information from your reader is not always the artful move you think it is. Especially if you’re writing in 1st person, you should not be withholding information that your character would naturally be thinking about in specific terms. Also remember that story happens in the specific, not the vague/vibes. Vibes can enhance a story, but they cannot tell one.
