I’ve been testing out the mics on a new field recorder, a Tascam X8 which is superseding a trusty but hissy Zoom H4N Pro. There’s a Sennheiser MK600 underneath as a center channel and a clever little battery plate by Blind Spot to power the whole thing. I’m off to find a shipping container armed with a sledgehammer and a circular saw. Time to make a racket.
