I’ve mostly left the fenced garden untended this season, and it’s absolutely hairy and wild. There is a vigorous volunteer redbud, and the paths are hardly walkable. I think next year I’d like to transition this area into an herb and perennial flower garden, mulch heavily, and keep it simple.

Ok my tomatoes are starting to look like that too. What sort of disease is it? I tell you what, this has been the worst season. I had voles eat $300 worth of tulips and then $600 worth of dahlia tubers, my green beans got eaten by Mexican bean beetles, and everything else is stunted due to the heat. The only things that have done well are my zucchinis and cucumbers and zinnias.
