Maturing as an engineer is often realizing that writing too much code can more often than not be an unbearable burden. Why should I spend a few hours or even days to solve a problem if there might already be a solution out there? If it's mature and battle-tested enough, integrate that shit, and save yourself the energy to get more work done. And if there isn't anything available, I can still spend a few days to come up with a solution myself.
