From 1955 to 1982, we had successive Lib govts - Bolte, Hamer, Thompson - that (from 1965) didn’t turn a sod on an airport rail line. Between 1982-92, we had a Labor govt that built the city loop to expand capacity on our metro railways. Between 1992-99, we had a Lib gov that shutdown railways. Between 1999-2010, we had a Labor gov that put in the hardyards to reopen railways. Currently, we have a Labor gov that’s done the heavy lifting to separate rail from roads. @theageaustralia vicpol
