Purely saving money is for financially uneducated people (I was there once.) The value of the dollar is decreasing very fast and just a regular savings account is stupid. If you save, at the very least use a high yielding savings account that pays 4-5% interest. Otherwise, invest in a Roth IRA, get a health savings account (tax free), buy gold, silver, crypto, start/buy a small business, buy land or houses and apartments and rent them out. Use money to make more money rather than just saving it.

by average do you mean someone that gets a job out of uni or study and stays in that job through there 20s or someone who decides to travel and gainxexperiences in there 20s? pretty broad question imo.
