I always wonder what will drive modern rock music back into the mainstream spotlight. To me the definition of it is this example in 2004. Spider-Man 2 was one of the most anticipated movies of that year, and it was decided to make the entire soundtrack some of the most up and coming bands of the era. To say how much rock was in the mainstream that year would be an understatement. Even Jet, Yellowcard, and Hoobastank played the MTV music awards. Take me back to 04.
