To be a Christian is to live in community. I know that's not easy to find or to build but it IS possible. You cannot be a Christian alone. Even the early Christian hermits were part of larger networks of Christians, often as teachers, often dependent upon others, and, like in the case of St. Benedict, drawn out of hermitage into community living.
