Making music is a balance between satisfying and breaking expectations. Music that breaks all expectations will not connect with anyone and thereby be irrelevant. Musik that follows expectations too much will sound boring and be quickly forgotten. For myself, I see me as part of a "musical neighbourhood". Those are artists that I keep track of, buy their music and support them. My ambition for the music I make is that it will work in a DJ set with those artists while also adding something new.
