The hard work & commitment art requires are often undervalued or unrecognized. When people compliment talent, they are usually just saying it to say something positive, but the connotation is an attitude artists encounter often: that the source of the art is mysterious, magical & unearned. All of us were bad at drawing when we started, & would have stayed that way without consistent practice. If there is anything innate that predisposes one to successful skill aquisition, it's joy in the process
