Finished 'Psyche and Eros' and I rarely have been so disappointed by a novel. Why did they do my favourite myth so dirty? I simply don't get why every female protagonist needs to be a strong warrior-tomboy. Why couldn't she just have been left a beautiful princess? And the Trojan War feels so unfitting and showed into the narrative. Not every retelling needs to feature Odysseus (especially with a painful nickname), even if he indeed was pretty cool.
