An internet troll recently laughed at me for setting aside time during our homeschool day for life skills. He suggested that teaching my son to “churn butter and sew clothes” is useless🤔 My son is 6, and we haven’t covered these just yet, but it makes me wonder… Why would we dismiss teaching kids how their clothes and food are made? Why is it odd to equip them with the skills to create essential items if they choose to or need to in the future? When did self-sufficiency become laughable?
