A Scot named Scott
looks down from his high seat,
wry smile wrinkling the stone —
He stares,
seeking the long past lady
whose lake once slaked his thirst
for mountain magic;
Until she wakes,
he sits stonily silent, in a city alone:
His monument stands
for his forgotten lands,
for times sunken in Scottish sand
