Going to school is not the end all be all or the only way to get into the industry. There are folks who’ve done it who are just as confused as you are. If you need something with a lower barrier of entry, consider an apprenticeship program with the right salon/stylist that will help you pass the state board. This way, you can earn money while earning your license so you don’t have to put a hold on your finances
