Two meals I'm going to make in the next week, Lamb Cawl and a smoked Haddock Kedgeree. Lamb Cawl is Welsh, Kedgeree English with influence from South Asia. Modern English is about using great traditional ingredients and putting a more modern twist on them. I use black pudding in various dishes for example, not just in a fried breakfast.

You don’t like steak n ale pie or roast dinner?

How can anyone not love sticky toffee pudding, summer pudding, cream teas, flapjacks, shepherds pie, pork belly casserole, toad in the hole, Cornish pasty or marmite?

Maybe a controversial view here but Scottish food is mostly oatmeal and the bits the butcher chucked away mixed together & deep fried. But given enough scotch it’s pretty good.

What other Scottish things do you like? Seriously I live in the west of Scotland and the food here is pretty grim 🙈😂
