RunningThreads seems invested in the Apple Watch vs Garmin debate. I have no dog in this race; There are valid reasons to go with one or the other. But the “Apple Watch has notoriously bad GPS” is an outdated take. As a smartwatch reviewer, I’ve run with nearly every Apple Watch and Garmin model — often simultaneously — for the past 6-7 years. Garmin used to be much more accurate, but these days? There’s not much of a difference. Esp with the Ultra, as it has multiband GPS.
