I like this approach too and to add to this I think that theists need to appreciate that position rather than try to claim there is some empirical evidence of an objective spirit. Both sides are often lost arguing rational points about what is ultimately (unless otherwise demonstrated) a subjective experience. More theists could make appropriate arguments from that perspective. But by engaging in a completely subjective argument they have to admit that their chosen god isn’t the only possible
