Fuji got me so confused on why they would make a slow “medium format” camera. that has way smaller sensor than actual medium format. And not make a really great full frame camera instead.

Well that’s a dumb question. A GFX sensor is 70% larger than full frame. 70% larger makes a big difference. It’s a larger difference than full frame vs APSC. Try it - you CAN see the difference. Incidentally, back in the film days full frame was actually called “small format”.

The GFX sensor is close to 70% larger than full frame. A 100 mp GFX slaps 60 mp full frame. If you need ultra high quality files vs speed that is.

They’ve strategically positioned themselves this way. From a business standpoint, it’s smart. They know precisely what market they fill. As much as I wish Fuji had made a capable full frame, it would decimate their current line up + people would probably have a preference towards the other big brands for FF.
