STORY TIME: Let me tell you how Erika Lee … a women I’ve never met ruined my monthly shopping trip. Back story, I live in a small military town, & if you haven’t guessed by now I’m Haitian. Most of my comfort foods ingredients I can’t find there, like Japanese sweet potatoes, salt fish, salted mackerel, ect. I drive once a month an hour away to a bigger town so I can shop at an African grocery store. They have all the GOOD stuff so you can imagine how I felt when i found it. (1/6)

幾秒內	audvieme	Fast forward today, my friend (who is also Haitian) drove with me to this bigger city, mind you an hour away to grocery shop. We’re in the store, minding our business, we grab a basket. She has a mini purse, I have a bigger one. We’re walking around the store, placing items in our baskets: turkey wing, Japanese potatoes, plantains, fufu, ect. I get to the register, I check out and we’re making small talk. My friend is oso at the register, we start speaking Creole.(2/6)
