A working and reliable public transit system. As they say, it’s not the job, it’s the commute. If MTA and NJ Transit were actually reliable, I would be much better about going in but it is literally often a crapshoot.

"Me" from a couple months ago would say: being close enough to the office that commuting wouldn't destroy my days. And that's exactly what happened. I'm actually more effective with people around me usually, so I like being in office despite working remote for nearly 8 years. Not everyone is me though, I'm a huge proponent of flexible hybrid.

$30k would roughly break even on the cost for daily commute, lunches, etc. Nothing could really make up for the improved quality of life I have working from home.

To have the same level of flexibility in my daily schedule. I might clock in at 8 or 8:45, I might take an hour or 2 hour lunch break, but will still get my shift done and meet my daily productivity expectations. Also the office would need to be near. I am wayyy finished with long commutes and toll bills.

A boatload of cash. Like, so much more cash than any WFH job is willing to offer.

We were ordered to return to the office next month for 4 days! Don’t really know how I’m going to handle the commute considering that I moved since I started working from home 4.5 years ago 🤷‍♀️

Paid transportation, lunch, and paid childcare including pick up and drop off service for my kids.
