Growing up in the Puget sound area as an issei moved here at the age of six, the story of minidoka was always present at bon odori. It made going to the fair with school bittersweet. I’m so glad there’s an experiential component to help the visitor feel what it was like for the unjustly incarcerated Japanese Americans. #mywastatefair
