As the parent of a young man with an intellectual disability and autism, it has been so encouraging seeing the outpouring of support for Gus Walz. Obviously the MAGA response has been appalling, but it hasn’t gone unchallenged. My son is finishing school and entering the big wide world in the next few months, which is scary. But I feel a lot better knowing that there are good people out there who will accept him for who he is and stand up to those who don’t.
