Coaches need to stop telling people to build muscle to speed up their metabolisms. It’s minimal. We’re talking about a few more calories per hour, which means that even in significant amounts, it’s equivalent to an extra apple a day. Muscle is helpful, but it isn’t making you a calorie burning machine. Increasing general movement (steps) might, though.
