Back in college, I learned about this phrase “culture eats strategy for breakfast” and I was like wtf even is that (and apparently it is being misquoted). After more than four years in corporate, I truly understand what it means: The strategy can be well designed but you need humans who buy the idea to execute it. If the culture is shit, you will spend more time managing these people / rehire and retrain than achieving the goals.
