Do it. And then, keep doing it. Consistency and persistence is key.

The ‘advice’ that I give anyone who says they’re interested in starting a podcast is to go Facebook and Instagram live for 20 days in a row and find out if you still have something to talk about after 20 days and are willing to show up for that commitment consistently.

Don’t spend your time asking random strangers on the internet for advice.

I would start by reading books & articles about podcasting. I would also send out some surveys to people I know asking what kind of stuff they would like to hear on your podcast.

Don’t bite off more than you can chew, take a realistic look at your schedule and obligations. I believe it’s OK to start simple & grow; the best case scenario is your audience will grow with you. I think a lot of people try to take on too much, not realizing the time it takes to draft, prepare, find people, record, edit, & promote. I’m happy with my current format & pace; so far it’s working because I’m not burned out after 16 episodes and I’m knocking on 900 downloads less than 90 days.
