I agree with your observation, and I really don’t like separatism. My mindset is that the earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it, so I’m inching more and more toward writing for a broader/mainstream/secular audience, while still bringing my authetic self, including my faith, into my songwriting. SO many themes are relatable across differing beliefs; I think that’s beautiful, and I want to lean in to that. (It’s tough though. The christianmusic algorithms are strong. 🌊)
