He certainly did, and the strong military-chic aesthetic he cultivated was a huge benefit for Nazi propaganda, so that IS really bad. Still with noting though that he was responsible for SS officers going around Southern France, Italy, and North Africa in the middle of summer wearing black leather trenchcoats. Hardly a redemption (and probably unintentional regardless), but the man gave a lot of fascists heatstroke!
