OK so weird factoid, way back in the 80s when I was born with something called Fibular hemimelia (my fibula wasn't there in my left leg) but at 10 days old the doctors took a rib out and used it to replace my fibula. It worked I never had issues. Why isn't this done more often? I can find very little about it when I try to google it. I understand it was a bit experimental at that time though. Dr. Tredwell was the doctor.
