The only argument regarding processed food being harmful is that when something is farther from a single ingredient food, it’s easier to overeat.
That’s it. The dose and excess body fat accumulation.
If you control for calories, protein, and micronutrients in your overall diet, and live a healthy lifestyle (active, sleep well, not obese) then by all means, fill in some calories with whatever you want.
Processed food isn’t bad because it’s procesed. It’s harmful if it makes you overeat.
