I lost my MacBook and a guy called me to return it to me… He told me when he gave it back that I needed to give him $50. I told him I didn’t have it!l on cash app!!! He called me 3 times since, do I actually have to pay him the money?

Where’s there’s a will there’s a way and it sounds like there’s no will to give it to him which is unfortunate since his act of kindness made you whole. I would suggest figuring out a way to offer him the reward money.
