A question for experienced air travelers on behalf of son and his family: Two adults, two kids, Bozeman to Raleigh via Denver on United. First leg delayed, so they miss second flight. Supposedly for weather, but gates/planes were switched and they were offering 2.5k United Bucks to get 15 people off a heavy plane that was supposed to go to Newark. No issue with every other flight to Denver for other carriers. But it was "weather" for UA, so no hotel or food for them in Denver. Suggestions?
