Right. Old guy opinion - I am going to try CX this fall, but as much as I would like to race, it feels weird - arbitrary season - I am racing my bike, not my ability to get on and off the bike and haul it over things - mud seems to be fun to people - handups? I did one gravel race last year and it was fun despite a crash in the neutral zone (! Not my fault) and would do more of them. And I miss actual road races, vs crits.
