So … we can see that 90% of the difference here is how Penelope is acting, right? In Bridgerton 302 she’s holding her head up, she’s keeping eye contact, (she’s giving him the not very subtle once-over (Miss Featherington!!!)), she’s standing facing him rather than protecting herself by acting as the sideline commentator. In both, Colin is oriented toward her and even makes some of the same expressions, but facing away in 202 means she is in control of their eye contact and she denies it. 1/2
