Based on my algorithm, I’m certain I’m in the minority, but I prefer The Cure to The Smiths. I feel better now that’s out there.

Oddly enough, yesterday I was driving home from work and a Smiths song came on (it was one of my Spotify playlists) and I spent several minutes trying to decide if I liked the Smiths or the Cure more. The end result of the mental debate was that Johnny Marr's solo work is great.

I'm in that minority too. I like The Smiths, but I walked up the aisle at my wedding to The Cure.

Loathed the Smiths (well, Morrissey. I was with Robert Smith on that one). No song ever had more than 3 notes and they all sounded the same.

Based on my 16 year old self in 1985 algorithm , it is the cure.

Not in the minority. For teenage me, the Smiths were downers. The Cure looked like they were downers but the songs made me happy.

I like the Smiths music and certain songs are still favorites but I’d take the Cure and Robert Smith any day.
