Research update: On June 8, a team of UCBerkeley researchers sent their 3D printing tech to space for the first time as part of the #Galactic07 mission. Their next-generation microgravity printer — dubbed SpaceCAL — spent approx. 3 minutes in space while aboard VSS Unity. During that time, it autonomously printed a total of four test parts, including space shuttles and benchy figurines from a liquid plastic resin.
