People discovering that child marriage is legal in the USA is my least favorite thing that happens all the time. And state legislatures consistently fail to ban the practice, because “parental rights” (to force kids into marriage) shouldn’t be violated. 🤢The next awful thing people learn is that many states don’t permit divorce for children, so these kids forced into marriage are stuck until the age of majority, at least.
