1. Capitalism. It is stressful as hell to make a living wage. At my level of income, my whole life (and my wife's) depends on someone giving me money in exchange for a skill you have or product you make. If they decide they can't or won't give me money, that's an eemergency. In content creation, that isn't a decision made by 1, 2, or 10 people. It's a decision made by millions, a couple cents at a time. Much harder to ensure they decide to support you.
