Some of the syntax was confusing, using opposing descriptions for people and actions which pulled me out of the flow while reading. I got confused by two of the main characters having similar storylines in different timelines. It was cool that they were dealing with the same struggles because it matched the theme, but it got confusing to delineate what had happened to whom.

I've found myself more picky about description and detail as I've written more myself and participated in critique groups. I also know how hard it is to get a book concept edited and wrangled cohesively and then out into the world. This book gave me a lot to think about with how I approach my own writing.
