We didn't change our spelling, but in the last 30 years some members of our family have changed how they pronounce our shared surname. The name ends in "-vet" and lots of people automatically give it a French-sounding -vay ending. So some of us now pronounce the last syllable like -vet, and some like -vay. We might be an odd bunch.
