Probably not. There’s nothing special about the medium and it’s a compact one. The size of vinyl is appealing along with the scratchy sound of a record. They’re apples and oranges really.

Whilst I still have a pretty decent turntable, arm and cartridge my primary and secondary systems CD players have both died. Naim no longer have parts for the primary one and the secondary failed before that. In the end I just ripped my CDs to steam from my NAS. CDs selling point was it's robustness and storage. Vinyl had better artwork and didn't sound any worse with the right equipment. I can stream better quality than my CD player so it lacks an advantage over either Streaming or Vinyl.

I think CDs will have a moment again but it won’t be like the 90s and 2000s. I think that it’ll be some time from now

There are a huge number of CD recordings you will not find anywhere else. It’s inevitable that they will make a comeback at some point.

I enjoy both. I collected CDs first and for a majority of my life whereas my vinyl collecting didn’t start up until 5 years ago.

I wish someone came up with affordable cd readers that would let you adjust speed greatly, reverse, loop, and even accepts cd that are modified (with perforated tape for example). Cd players/discmans are way too straightforward to be interesting (stop/play, next, previous.. alright), which makes cd use unexciting. They need to be playable like instruments.
