What do people write when someone marks a purchase as a gift on etsy, but doesn't provide a gift message. Should I say who gave it to them? But is it weird that I'm doing it on their behalf? I've been struggling with this for the past year now 😂

If they wanted to add something, they could have. Now the gift is a surprise which I think is fun

I sell greeting cards which are quite obviously going to be given to someone else and a fair number of people tick the “gift” option. I wonder if people think Etsy are just asking out of curiosity? I often wonder whether to tick it when I’m buying something to give to someone else but it’s not sent directly to them.
