I’m starting to think that people who use the word “vanilla” as an adjective to describe something as “boring” or “plain” (“vanilla sex”, for example) — have just never been exposed to really excellent vanilla. I’ve had some damn good vanilla ice cream and vanilla scones. My favorite coffee drink is a vanilla cold brew. Vanilla is the second most expensive spice in the world (after saffron). Quality matters. Just some food for thought. 🙃
