I was watching radar as the thunderstorms raced across New Jersey this evening, growing taller and taller. Even though they went south of the city I knew it would be putting on a great lightning show. Here is an image I captured along the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn looking across Staten Island towards New Jersey.
