The way the trans femme community inadvertently mirrors the pretty privilege of cis society has always bothered me. We subconsciously push beauty standards that are neither necessary, attainable nor desirable for all of us, and it’s sucks. But I find this difficult to talk about without being a downer about other people’s happiness, because at the same time as it bothers me I absolutely want trans women to share pics where they look and feel amazing, and I’m happy for them.
