Although I’m a consultant with a skincare and makeup company, I’ll be truthful. We take courses online about application of the products. BUT we are not liscensed to prescribe anything to anyone and I will refer a customer to a dermatologist or esthetician if the products are not delivering what they are supposed to. I go an esthetician myself.

Well, I can share personal experience of products an d experience. Have dermatographism and intolerance of smells, perfumes, hair products from retails, even expensive hair salons. Have facts how it is working and ingredients. MLT by trade.

I totally agree with this — but I will add estheticians that actually went to school and studied skin. My state seems to grant a license to many, if they claim they have practiced this profession before the year 2021 .. when my state started to require it.. it’s scary!

Preach! Any skincare video I do about my experience with healing my hormonal acne, I always tell people to go to a derm or *licensed* skin professional first!

I’m a nurse. I work in a Dermatology office full time. I also sell shampoo/skincare. It all just goes together. The company I am doing my side gig with has certifications courses/education about the products, how to use them, in what order to use them, and for what hair and skin type each product is for. The courses have an end quiz that we have to pass with 100% otherwise you have to repeat the entire course. From the very beginning.

Umm… disagree but ok. If you choose an authentic influencer who does their research well and knows their stuff, they can many a times be better trusted than experts who may want to simply shove their treatments down your throat for a quick buck!
