I made the tough but right decision to cancel a workshop today due to wildfires impacting an area. During the decision-making process, I ended up seeing a number of comments online criticizing that enough wasn't done proactively before the area was devastated by the fire. We are seeing our forests burn around us for multiple reasons, not one specific reason, which is it's own conversation. (1/2)

However, we should avoid pointing fingers from our keyboards and instead be supportive of the thousands of personnel doing what they can to save lives, structures, and the places we enjoy recreating in. It's been another tough year in the West, with limited resources. Cooler damp fall weather can't come soon enough. (2/2)
